This year marks the 20th anniversary of the inauguration of brain-death donation in this country.<\/span><\/strong>Prof. Chen Zhonghua told us about the development of China's organ donation cause in these 20 years. Under the joint efforts of several generations in the field of organ donation and transplantation, organ donation in China has realized significant transformation and progress, and has now come to theDonor era with a major proportion of DBD donors<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n


<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the total number of annual donations in China has reached the second highest in the world, the donation rate of China's population in millions (PMP) is still significantly lower than the global average, and what needs to be done in the future is to further improve the PMP and the quality of organ donation. With regard to the type of donor donation, it is necessary to further expand brain-death donation and actively explore technical methods to improve the clinical efficacy of organ transplantation from heart-death donors.<\/span><\/p>\n

The shortage of donor organs is a global problem today.<\/span><\/strong>.. Prolonged thermal ischemia (WIT), seen in uncontrollable DCD (uDCD), causes severe donor kidney injury, leading to a significantly increased risk of PNF, severe DGF, and thrombosis after transplantation. Therefore, uDCD donor kidneys are routinely discarded clinically, thus further exacerbating the shortage of donor organs.<\/span><\/p>\n


<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Yanfeng Wang's TeamEstablished a rat model of uDCD that mimics the clinic<\/span><\/strong>, thrombosis associated with abnormal fibrinogen synthesis and severe vascular contracture were found to be the most important causes of renal injury.<\/span><\/p>\n


<\/span><\/p>\n

The team significantly improved renal circulation in mice with WIT for up to 90 min by using a strategy of fibrinolytic prewash, hypothermic oxygen-carrying mechanical perfusion (HOPE) combined with carbon monoxide carrier perfusion, with no significant difference in resistance and flow of perfusion from mice without thermal ischemic injury.<\/span>Kidney transplantation modeling confirms that this strategy can salvage nearly 701 TP3T kidneys and lays the groundwork for the clinical use of uDCD donor kidneys<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Only by fully understanding the relevant management regulations of OPO, strengthening the quality control management of OPO, and establishing a financial management system that is in line with the characteristics of the relevant work and guarantees efficient and sustainable operation, can we better promote the construction of OPO disciplining and high-quality development.<\/p>\n

Starting from the interpretation of OPO-related documents, Prof. Huo Feng elaborated on how to build a high-level OPO, emphasizing the importance and necessity of reasonable expenditure on organ acquisition costs, covering details such as the cost composition, reasonable expenditure, and payment methods of OPO.
